"Just the name of this fun-loving doggy will get kids laughing. Poochiegrass has a problem. There is a mosquito who wants to make him into a meal, but Poochiegrass won't have it! Quite by accident, Poochiegrass whacks the mosquito into a tree and this starts a battle to the death. But Poochiegrass has help from a loyal friend! Who will win? Poochiegrass of course, but how? Bright and bold illustrations make the characters come alive. A charming story with big pictures that children will enjoy again and again!"

"I Don't Like Mosquitoes!" by Michael Ambrosio is the children's picture book story of Poochiegrass, an energetic golden retriever puppy who has a run in with some very aggressive and nasty mosquitoes! Poochiegrass must use his cleverness and quick thinking to outwit the swarm, by devising a glue trap with a decoy. The vibrant illustrations by Bob Langan feature extremely bold color and entertainingly shapes and enhanced this enthusiastically told and highly recommended tale.

“I Don’t Like Mosquitoes!” How many times have you personally said that?  Everyone needs a little puppy like Poochiegrass to take care of their mosquito problem. Unknowingly Poochiegrass clobbers those pesky mosquitoes right and left but then he is left with one problem.  The lone surviving mosquito wants revenge.  Who will win? Poochiegrass must find a way to stop the swarm of mosquitoes that is out to get him and protect his owner from them also. Michael Ambrosio and Bob Langan did a great job making Poochiegrass our hero.  The kids love him and absolutely hate those pesky mosquitoes!   This book gets 5 hearts."

NEW CHILDREN’S BOOK FOR DOG LOVERS AND MOSQUITO HATERS

(Sacramento, CA, August 20, 2003) “I don’t like mosquitoes!” How many times have you personally said that? Pesky and annoying, mosquitoes are the villains in the latest children’s book authored by Michael Ambrosio and illustrated by Bob Langan, (I DON’T LIKE MOSQUITOES! LionX Publishing, October 2003). But instead of attacking humans, these mosquitoes are after an irresistibly adorable golden retriever puppy named Poochiegrass.
Poochiegrass loves to frolic in the tall grass and play Frisbee catch with his master. On a fine summer day in the hills of Minnesota, a hungry mosquito decides Poochiegrass should be his next meal. When Poochiegrass accidentally smacks the onrushing insect into a tree, the mosquito becomes quite angry, and goes to get friends, a whole swarm of them. Time after time the adorable Poochiegrass battles through near misses with the mosquito swarm. Using amazing puppy ingenuity and a little help from his friend, will Poochiegrass prevail in the end?
For children who love dogs, (especially golden retriever puppies), and for anyone who hates mosquitoes, this story is filled with suspense and a very satisfying ending. As Jane Deskis from Heartland Reviews says, “Michael Ambrosio and Bob Langan did a great job making Poochiegrass our hero.  The kids love him and absolutely hate those pesky mosquitoes!   This book gets 5 hearts.”

Michael Ambrosio is author of the I Don’t series of children’s picture books, the upcoming Destiny series of chapter books and has been published by Chicken Soup for the Soul, Insight Magazine and other regional publications. He lives with his wife and five children in Folsom, California.
